The Brusly High baseball team had a tough go of it last week, falling to University Lab in three games Thursday, April 5- Saturday, April 7.
Thursday and Saturday games were in the single digits. Thursday was a 7-3 loss and Saturday was 5-2. By Saturday, it looked like both defenses were a bit tired. The game ended with a score of 16-10.
Senior Cameron Daigle had a banner day for the Panthers driving in four runs. It wasn’t enough to pull through against the Cubs, though. Daigle drove in runs on a walk in the second, a triple in the third, and a double in the fifth.
All together, the Panthers collected nine hits on Saturday.
Bray Bourgoyne took the loss for Brusly pitching two-and-a-third innings, allowing six runs n three hits and striking out four.
After being tied 3-3 after three innings, the Panthers lost the lead for good when UHigh scored seven runs from two singles and two doubles in the fourth inning.
Brusly scored three in the fifth inning off of hits by Daigle and Tyler Tussey, who like Daigle, had multiple hits in the game.
