Second through eighth-grade students showcased their art work at the Holy Family Art Show on Thursday, May 11. Students created ceramics, drawings, paintings and more throughout the year with art teacher and artist Madlyn Hicks. Twenty students per grade participate in the specialized art program at Holy Family. Principal Michael Comeaux said art helps make students well-rounded. Not all students excel in academics or athletics, and art is an important outlet to provide for students, he said. Madlyn Hicks also had her art on display at the event. “I like for parents to know that their child has a real artist as an art teacher,” she said.
