P.A. man convicted and sentenced for transporting unlawfully taken wildlife

BATON ROUGE - United States Attorney Walt Green announced today that Andre A. Chustz Jr., 50, of Port Allen, pled guilty and was sentenced for his violation of the Federal wildlife laws.

Chustz was charged in a Bill of Information, filed on January 23, charging him with transporting unlawfully-taken wildlife, in violation of Title 16, United States Code, Sections 3372(a)(2)(A) and 3373(d)(2).

School Testing

It’s test time for West Baton Rouge schools, the time of year when 3rd-8th grade students prove how well their schools have equipped them throughout the year. But this year, the school system itself is being tested, as nearly 70 students chose to opt out of PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) testing.
