West Baton Rouge Museum announces new Curator of Collections

Port Allen - The West Baton Rouge Museum announces that Dr. Angélique Bergeron is the museum’s new Curator of Collections. Dr. Bergeron began her duties at the West Baton Rouge Museum in July where she is responsible for collections management and the exhibitions program.

Dr. Bergeron received her Master of Arts degree and doctorate from Louisiana State University in French Studies in 2006 and 2011 respectively. Her undergraduate work was completed at the University of Texas at Austin where she earned a B.A. in African and African American Studies. Prior to joining the professional staff at the West Baton Rouge Museum, Dr. Bergeron was the executive director at the Pointe Coupée Historical Society.

The West Baton Rouge museum is an educational resource committed to researching, collecting, preserving and presenting the heritage, history, and material culture of West Baton Rouge Parish and the surrounding areas for the benefit of the general public and future generations. The museum is a regional history museum accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and is a member of the American Association for State and Local History, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Southeastern Museums Conference, and the Louisiana Association of Museums.
