The West Baton Rouge Convention & Visitors Bureau is reporting record breaking crowds at the 2013 Reflections of the Season Christmas Light display.
"We are very pleased with the turn out so far," said Sharon Stam, Executive Director of the West Baton Rogue Convention and Visitors Bureau. "We are entering our fifth year and as with any event, we are finally getting the exposure and recognition for our efforts."
The WBR CVB has added new and exciting events and more displays each year. The Conference Center hosts unique and exciting holiday displays inside the facility.
This year's highlight is 'TREVOR" the singing and talking reindeer who resides in his own forest room at the Conference Center. Santa, crafters and wagon rides add to the fun for visitors each Friday and Saturday night.
The second annual Ice Fishing event was a huge success, despite the freezing temperatures, according to Special Events Director, Kathy Gautreau.
"This year the West Baton Rouge CVB awarded 45 fishing poles to the lucky few who were successful in catching a fish," said Gautreau of the event sponsored by Spillway Sportsman with assistance from the Louisiana Wild Life and Fisheries."
The first SNOW Patch night was held on December 14. December 21 will be the last SNOW PATCH night and will be the last major event held at the CVB this season. Wagon rides and Santa, as well as crafters and vendors will be available for visitors to Reflections starting Friday, the 20th, and running through Monday, December 23.
The Reflections final night will be December 24th and will only be a drive through on the final night.
The voting on the favorite West Baton Rouge Christmas Card contest on the West Baton Rouge CVB Facebook page has been fast and furious, said Stam,
"If you haven't voted on your favorite yet, go to Facebook.com/WBRCVB. Votes will be counted at the end of December and the winning school will receive their award after schools resumes," Stam said.
The Reflections of the Season is sponsored by WBRCVB, Placid, The Advocate, WBRZ, Lamar, Lofton Staffing and Security, EMCO, 96.1 The River, Extreme Inflatables, Country Roads Magazine, Louisiana Life Magazine .
