Now-March 24 The WBR Museum will host an exhibit, “Color of Freedom: Journey along the Underground Railroad.”

The exhibit will feature 49 painting, etchings and drawings by Joseph Holston, and is organized by the Arts Program of the University of Maryland University College.

March 15 The Plaquemine High School Class of 1986 will host a benefit Musical for one of their classmates, Vincent Johnson, who is very ill. The musical will be held at the Greater St. Mary Baptist Church at 7 p.m.

March 16 A Relay for Life survivor prayer breakfast will take place at 8:30 a.m. in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church activity center.

The event is sponsored by the SJB Church and the Knights of Columbus.

March 18, 25 and April 1 The library will host Monday Morning Fun for babies, toddlers and their families at 10 a.m.

They will bounce, sing, clap and rock along to nursery rhymes and action songs.

March 20, 27, April 3, 10 The WBRLibrary will host Wednesday Morning Preschool Storytimes, presented by Jennifer Shellman at 10 a.m.

Parents/caretakers must remain in the library during the program and are encouraged to participate in the program with the children.

March 23 First Baptist Church of Port Allen, 4200 Rebelle Lane, will host their Spring Fest and Easter Egg Hunt from 4-6 p.m.

March 24 Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church senior choir will celebrate their annual Spring Musical at 1:30 p.m. with special guest Sis. Shirley Griffin Johnson and the Gospel Determinators.

March 28 WBRMinisters Conference will hold “Holy Thursday” worship services at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Port Allen at 7 p.m.

March 29 A Good Friday worship service will be held at Antioch MBC in Lukeville at 1 p.m.

April 7 Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their annual Women Day at 7 a.m. with guest speaker Rev. Angela Lee-Domingue, pastor of New Canaan Baptist Church of B.R.

April 13 Rougon High School will hold a reunion for the now defunct school in Pointe Coupee Parish for former students.

The event will take place at Scott Civic Center in Pointe Coupee Parish.

Reservations are required to attend, as there is limited space.

$30 a person, and no children under 21.

April 29 The Annual Green Devil Golf Classic will take place at “The Island.” Registration ends on April 19.

May 4 The second annual “Stop the Bullying” Walk will take place at William and Lee Park from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., where there will be motivational speakers, food and games.
