Loving wife, mother, grandmother and retired court reporter with West Baton Rouge government. Edith passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, surrounded by her children, at Landmark of Baton Rouge at 12:30 a.m. She was 89 years old and a life-long resident of Port Allen. Edith was a graduate of Port Allen High where she was very athletic and then went on to Business College. She was an avid bowler after her retirement and enjoyed traveling. Visiting was on Friday at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen 5 to 9 p.m. Visiting continued on Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., celebrated by Rev. David Allen. Interment followed in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge. Edith is survived by her children and their spouses, Janis and Michael Tooley of Baton Rouge, Donald and Brenda Morris Dugas of Port Allen, Peggy and Mike Gulledge of Baton Rouge; 7 grandchildren, Brad Heimann, Stacy McIntyre, Brian Heimann, Donovan Dugas, Deanna McBride, Allison Toups and Kasey Gary; 17 great- grandchildren. She is also survived by 5 of her sisters, Rita Bujol, Irene Baum, Norma Didier, Louella Didier and Bernadine DeJean. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence J. "Fritz" Dugas; her parents, Jules and Cleora Altazan Templet; 4 brothers, Richard Templet, Wilfred Templet, Jules Templet Jr., and Herbert "Herk" Templet;1 sister, Cloera "Pat" Ritchie; infant great grandson, Trey McIntyre. Pallbearers will be Donovan Dugas, Brad and Brian Heimann, Marcus McBride, Keith McIntyre, Billy Toups and Jon Gary. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Baton Rouge.
