A native of Highpoint, Mississippi, and former resident of Gary, Indiana, he spent the last five years of his life in Brusly, Louisiana.
He retired from International Harvester in Melrose Park, Illinois after 30 years of service. Parks died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the age of 89. Visitation will be held Grant's Westside Funeral Services on Friday, May 16, 2014, from noon until 4pm and visitation resumes on Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 9am until religious services at 11am at Grant's Westside Funeral Services. Burial will be at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Virgie Hannah; two daughters, Robin Hannah and Lisa Thompson; two sons, Parks Joseph Hannah Jr. and wife, Linda and Patrick Hannah and companion, Amelia; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.
