Dorothy Branham Chance

A retired West Baton Rouge school teacher and elementary education supervisor, she died Sunday, May 11 at Old Jefferson Community Care Center.

She was 93 years of age, a native of Addis and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Boulevard on Monday, May 19 from 9:00 AM until the religious service at 11:00 AM, conducted by the Rev. Jim Sawyer. Interment followed in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by two daughters, Elva Lynn Daigle (Harold) and Sandra Chance Riley (Kenney) : 5 Grandchildren, Dana Daigle Allison (Richard), Kevin Chance Daigle (Leslie), Lt. Col William Chance Riley, U.S. Army (Reesha), Jonathan Kendall Riley (Amanda) and Michael David Riley (Aimee): 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Cazes and Albert Campbell Branham, her husband, Milton Chance, Jr. ,two brothers, Albert Branham and Donovan Branham, a sister, Susan Branham Glenn and a great-granddaughter, Kelsie Lynne Riley. Special thanks to the staff of Old Jefferson Community Care Center and Landmark of Baton Rouge for their care of our Mom over the past years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area or West Baton Rouge Presbyterian Church.
