Julia Frances 'Fran' Crutchfield

Julia Frances Crutchfield (Nee Driskell) formerly known as Fran Walton, walked boldly into the loving arms of Jesus at 5:50 pm on May 18, 2014.

A native of West, Texas and a graduate of Waco high School, she was a long-time resident of Watson and Port Allen. She was a member of Amite Baptist Church and a past member of Grace Baptist Temple, East Liverpool, Ohio. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, companion and friend and the best cook who ever trod a kitchen floor. Fran is preceded in glory by her parents, Harlan and Nina Johnston Driskell, one brother and four sisters. She is survived by her husband Edwin Crutchfield of Watson, son Edward Carney and wife Veronica of Mesquite, Nevada, daughter Judy Carney of Baton Rouge; Granddaughters Sherry Frances Tomes of Watson and Theresa Dickson of Littleton, Colorado; Grandsons, Michael Carney of Canton, Ohio and Dane Carney of Tennessee; Sister Billie Huffman and Brother Harlan Driskell, both of Waco, Texas. This family is especially grateful to these special people; Sherry Tomes, Phil Atkins, Don and Elaine Kennedy, Ralph and Iris Perkins, Herman and Carolyn Wilkinson, Fred and Barbara Hart, our Church Family, the folks at Hospice of Baton Rouge and Bro. Huey Stafford. Visitation was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd. on Tuesday May 20 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Visitation resumed on Wednesday at the Amite Baptist Church from 9:00 am until the religious service at 10:00 am conducted by the Rev. Ernest Graham. Interment was in the Louisiana National Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Active pallbearers were Huey Stafford, Herman Wilkinson, Merlin Morgan, Bob Ash, Paul Hornsby and Jumbo Ott. Honorary pallbearers were Phil Atkins, Don Kennedy and Ralph Perkins. Memorial donations may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America
