Olevia Moore, a resident of Port Allen, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at age 72.

Olevia loved singing either at home or at church. When it came to television, she never missed an episode of The Young and the Restless. Viewing was held at Grant's Westside Funeral Services on Friday, June 20, 2014 from noon until 4pm and again on Saturday, from 8:00 am until service at 10am at St. John Baptist Church, Mulatto Bend, conducted by Rev. Ray Carroll. Olevia is survived by daughter, Debbie Francis; four sons, Micheal Jones, Raymond Jones (Melissa), Ronnie Moore (Monique) and Gary Moore; four sisters, Alberta Beardon, Francis Perry, Rose Myers (Leon Sr.) and Norma Martin (Walter); four brothers, Frank Jones (Gloria), Freddie Dents, Charlie Jones (Marie) and Willie Dents (Roselean); 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by husband, Richard Moore, Sr.; son, Richard Moore, Jr.; parents, grandson; and four sisters.
