"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." (Psalm 116:15) A veteran of the US Air Force, retired photographer of Avondale Shipyard and LSU Medical Research Center,

a native of Plaquemine, LA; and a resident of Gretna, LA passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the age of 69. He was a certified hypnotherapist, mentor, counselor, and a major influence to various groups and communities. He is survived by one sister, Bessie Rose (Plaquemine, LA); and one brother, Elliot "Dubbie" (Plaquemine, LA); nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends around the world. He was preceded in death by his loving parents: Lawrence "Step" Sr. and Velma Stepteaux. Services were Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 at Israelite Missionary Baptist Church 2100 Martin Luther Blvd., New Orleans, LA at 1:00 p.m. (Viewing 11:30 a.m-1:00p.m) Potluck Repast at the House of Broel, 2220 St. Charles Ave. New Orleans, La immediately following. Additional visitation was Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Hall Davis and Son of Plaquemine, 58790 Iron Farm Road, Plaquemine, LA from 10:00 a.m to 1:30 p.m. Interment in Grace Memorial Cemetery in Plaquemine, LA at 2:00 p.m. Hall Davis and Son Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
