Maurice H. "Buddy" Easterly Jr.

Buddy passed on August 25, 2014 at 5 a.m. at Port Allen Caring Center at the age of 82.

He was a native of Watson and a resident of Grosse Tete. He was a cowboy and rancher and retired from I.T. Corporation employee. He was an Army Veteran and fought in Korean Conflict. Visiting was Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen on Tuesday, August 26th from 5 to 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, from 8:30 a.m. until of Religious Services at 10 a.m., conducted by Rev. Jimmy Womack. Burial followed at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Grosse Tete. Buddy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marietta Guerin Easterly of Grosse Tete; five children, Evelyn Easterly David of Grosse Tete, Maurice H. "Bud" Easterly III and wife Judy of Brusly, Joe Easterly and wife Eva of Prairieville, Connie Easterly of Grosse Tete, Paul Easterly and wife Chantel of Grosse Tete; 12 grandchildren, Misty Easterly, Olivia David Latiolas, Robert David Jr., Joseph Easterly Jr., Jacob David, Carolyn Easterly, Maurice Easterly IV, Clayton Easterly Jr., Alice Cochran, Daniel Easterly, Brandy LeBlanc and Ricky Tullier Jr.; 8 great grandchildren, Ella and Ava Latiolas, Luke George Jr., Kade and Hudson LeBlanc, Sophie Tullier and Kylie Aguillard, Avery Beard; one sister, Ann Melton; one sister-in-law, Fannie Easterly; and numerous nieces and nephews. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice H. Sr. and Thelma Peak Easterly, two sisters, Thelma Easterly Pirie and husband Douglas, Grace Easterly; one brother, Robert "Bob" Easterly; favorite son-in-law, Robert Wayne David Sr., brother-in-law, Robert Melton; niece, Maurice Pirie; great nephew, Brandon Pirie. Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons and nephews, Colby Beard and Gordon Holmes Easterly. Honorary pallbearers will be the other grandsons, J.E. "Smoke" Guerin, Ben LeBlanc and Nicky Latiolas Jr. He was a former member LQHBA and AQHA. Special thanks to South Louisiana Hospice and Port Allen Care Center and his roommate Mr. Roy Dale Freeman.
