A devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012. He was 89, a resident of Denham Springs and native of Erwinville, Louisiana.
He retired as manager of Square Deal Grocery after 45 years and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served in the Pacific theater with the 457th Parachute Ferrying Battalion, 11th Airborne. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Agnes Cunningham Goudeau, four sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Mona, of Ethel, La; Richard and Sandy, of Baton Rouge, La; Roger and Donna, of Watson, La; Russell and Joy, of Cary, NC; two daughters, Pam Shelton, of Prairieville, La, and Karen Goudeau of Baton Rouge, La; brother, Kirby Goudeau, of Greenwell Springs, La; sister, Gloria Rinaudo, of New Roads, La; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Anita Gremillion Goudeau; daughter, Marcia Gail; granddaughters, Mary Lisa Goudeau and Amy Nicole Shelton. Pallbearers will be Paratroopers from the Airborne qualified Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs), including grandson CMSgt John Shelton, from Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma. Visitation was held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, La, Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 6pm until 8pm and resumed Friday, January 4, 2013 from 9am until religious service at 10am.
