Lillian Odom Hunter departed this earthly life on Friday, January 11, 2013 after battling a short illness on her journey to become one with the Lord.
She was married to the late Richard M. Hunter, Sr., and was the daughter of the late William and Leona S. Odom, who were from Brusly, LA. Lillian leaves to cherish her memory one son, Richard Michael Hunter, Jr., and one daughter, Beryl Faith Hunter, two grandchildren, Airis Noelle Johnson of New York and Cyrbryle Timothy Hunter. Five sisters, Ursula Odom Allen, Lenora Odom Crawford, and Earline Odom King, all of Baton Rouge, LA, Glennie Odom Griffin of Harvey IL, Patricia Odom Harvey of Shelbyville, TN, three brothers, William Odom, Jr., of San Francisco, CA, Lionel Odom of Brusly, LA, Kenneth Odom of Las Vegas, NV and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from all walks of life. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Josulyn Odom, Evelyn Odom Venable, Irene Odom Breaux, Wanda Odom Harris, a brother, Marvin Odom and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Family and friends, clergy and members of The Progressive BC, Gideon Christian Fellowship, Greater Providence BC, Mt. Olive BC, Pentecost BC and Israelite Baptist Churches were invited to the service on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at The Progressive Baptist Church, 1214 S. Robertson St. NOLA for 10 a.m., Rev. Dr. Willie B. Gable, Jr., officiating. Interment is in Providence Park. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m.
