A truck driver and resident of Baton Rouge, he died of cancer at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.
He was 61 and a native of Bueche. Visiting at Second Baptist Church of Port Allen on Saturday, March 2, from noon until services at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Larry James. Interment in Kelson Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Margaret Bracken; dauthers, Catherine (John) Bracken, Baton Rouge, Delilah Thornton and Chelsie Thornton, both of New Roads, and Latoya Thornton, of Port Allen; son, Tyson Thornton, New Roads; sisters, Jackie Bracken, of Glynn, Brenda (Rick) Wagner, of Bothell, Wash., and Rosie Hawkins, of Baton Rouge; brothers, Russell Bracken, Archie Bracken and Michael Bracken, all of Glynn; six stepchildren, Natasha, Quinton, Gerald, Paul, Alvin and Ashley, all of Baton Rouge; and six grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Willie Bracken; three sisters, Mary Holmes, Willie Dee Henry and Ida Bell Bracken; and two brothers, Ronald Bracken and Aaron Bracken. Arrangements with A.
