F Major Wunstell Sr.

A wonderful dad, grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed. Anybody can be a grandfather, but it takes a special person to be a "Gramps".

A retired carpenter and construction worker with Local 1098. He passed away on March 6, 2013 at 5:55 p.m. at his home in Plaquemine at the age of 82. He was a native of Grosse Tete. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Saturday from 9 a.m. until Religious services at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. James Tillar. Entombment in Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum to follow. Major is survived by 3 sons, Francis Major Wunstell, Jr. and wife Peggy, Plaquemine, Kevin J. Wunstell, Port Allen, Durwin "Dee" Wunstell and wife Linda, Plaquemine; 4 daughters, Linda W. Collins and husband Lionel, Marilyn W. Oglesby and husband Benny, Roxana W. Pollet and husband Floyd, Stephanie W. Lewis and husband Lynn, all of Plaquemine; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Chester Landry, Robert Landry and wife Ruthie all of Plaquemine; Ellis "Lester" Landry, Denham Springs, Thomas Landry, Plaquemine; 1 brother-in-law, Jessie Guidry Sr.; numerous nieces and nephews. Major was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Mae Guidry Wunstell; parents, Riley Wunstell and Hilda Haynes Landry; sister, Mildred King; brother, John M. Wunstell; granddaughter, April Wunstell. Pallbearers will be D.J. Wunstell, Ethan Wunstell, Kevin Wunstell, Lonnie Collins, Ben Oglesby, Jerrett Pollet. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Broussard and Chaston Collins.
