Jacqueline Matherne "Jackie" Brabham

Our beloved mother, Jacqueline Matherne Brabham passed way it the arms of our God on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:20pm.

She was 89 years old, born on April 30, 1923 and a lifelong resident of Port Allen. She was a former employee of the Westside Journal for 20 years and a retired Accountant for the Department of Education for the State of Louisiana. She is survived by her two children, son, Eric James Brabham and daughter Bonnie Brabham Suggs; granddaughters, Meghan Suggs Fourroux and husband Jason, and Whitney Suggs, her loving partner Catarino Rodriguez; a grandson, Lucas Suggs; great grandchildren, Riley and Reese Fourroux and Scarlett Rodriguez; a sister, Betty Matherne LaBauve; a brother, Clifton "Chief" Matherne. Preceded in death by her parents, James and Julia Daigle Matherne; sisters, Margaret Matherne LeBlanc and Gertrude "Sis" Matherne Berthelot; brother, James "Bucket" Wade Matherne, II. Pallbearers will be Eric Brabham, Lucas Suggs, Jason Fourroux, Paul Guarisco, Douglas LaBauve, Andy Matherne and Clifton "Bo" Matherne, Jr. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen on Monday, April 15, 2013 from 5 to 9pm and at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port Allen on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10am, celebrated by Father David Allen. Interment Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Jacqueline's passion was quilt making and gardening. She loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
