A retired crane operator for Stupp Corp., he passed away at 6:10 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at his home in Livonia. He was 83 and a native of Jarreau.
Visiting was at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, Livonia, on Monday, April 22, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Suchit Paul. Entombment in the church mausoleum. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Elma Johnson Jarreau; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Warren Slocum, of St. Gabriel, Susan and Glenn Soileau, and Darlene and Orville Vallet, all of Livonia; a son and daughter-in-law, Leroy and Tonya Jarreau, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters, Lottie Daigle and Ruby Major, both of Erwinville; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was precded in death by his parents, Morrell Sr. and Iva West Jarreau; brother, Lester Jarreau; and sister, Helen David.
