Earl John Bennett Sr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday May 23, 2013 at the age of 89.

He was native of Plaquemine La., and a resident of New Orleans, La., and Addis La. He was a World War II Marine Veteran, a Barber and Longshoreman for many years. Son of the Late Isaac and Sadie Barber Bennett. Husband by 1st marriage to the Late Beatrice Pierce Bennett and 2nd marriage to the Late Ethel Jackson. Loving father of Elaine B. Gioustovia, Cheryl B. Casborn, Errol J. Bennett Sr. (Margaret), Eric J. Bennett Sr., (Sherron), Patrice B. Garibaldi (William), Diedra B. Bennett, a Devoted Daughter and son-in-law Joycelyn B. and Herbert Jones and the Late Joan L., Julie M. and Earl J. Bennett Jr. Stepfather of Shelia Clayton, Gwen King (Donald), Cynthia Robinson and Edward Jackson, Jr. (Anita). Brother of Ruby P. Johnson and Charles Bennett. Devoted cousin of Lorie Christmas. Also survived by a Host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted on Saturday, June 1, 2013 for 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 4700 Pineda Street, N.O. La. Father Edmund Akardor officiating.
