John R. Chunkie Miller Sr.

John passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at his home in Addis, Sunday, June 9, 2013.

He was twenty days shy of 92 years old and enjoyed a lifetime of love and happiness with his family and friends. John was a native of Plaquemine and retired from Ethyl Corporation, now Abermerle, with 37 years of service. Visitation was at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm, celebrated by Monsignor Earl Gauthreaux. Interment at Grace Memorial Park in Plaquemine, LA. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn LeMay Miller. His six children and their spouses are Kathy Miller Elliott and the late George Elliott of Maringouin. Judy Miller Whitfield and husband Steve of Baton Rouge, Johnny Miller and wife Angela Drummond of Plaquemine, Kevin Miller and wife Tammy Tanecka of Baton Rouge, Kellye Miller Andre and husband Rickey of Addis and Janna Miller Kershaw and husband Chris "Fish" of Brusly. His 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren are Lori Elliott Warren and husband Landy, their children, Emily and Landy Warren II, of Round Rock, Texas; Cliff Elliott and wife Susan Koester, their children, Megan, Sarah, Ethan and Sabrina of Maringouin; Eric Elliott and wife Jamie Pizzalato, their children, Madeline, Sophie, Abbey and Waylon of Maringouin; Chris Elliott and wife Tara Charleville, their children, Leighton and Hayden of Maringouin; Staci Whitfield Hinerman and husband Ken, their children, Ashley, Makenzie and Natalie of Olney, Maryland; Dr. Brett Whitfield and wife Kelli Acker, their children, Harrison and Rowan of Daniels, West Virginia; Lindsay Whitfield-Haugbolle and husband Sune, their children Sofia and Viggo of Copenhagen, Denmark; Chrislyn Miller of Plaquemine; Adam Miller, of Beckley, West Virginia, John and Jordyn Miller of Baton Rouge; Lindy Andre, her children, Hannah and Hunter McBride of Addis, Aaron Andre and fiancé Nancy DeVille of Lafayette, Benjamin and Gracie Andre of Addis; Brantly Mouch and wife Marga Santos, their son, Basil of Goldsboro, North Carolina, Lauren Mouch Paddock and husband Brandon, their daughter, Adyson of Port Allen, and Bryant Mouch of Baton Rouge. He was proceeded in death by his parents Hunter H. and Annie Jumonville Miller; brothers, Stuart, Glyn and Robert "Moon" Miller and Sister Annie Rae. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
