A retired United State Air Force Veteran of 23 years, he died June 8, 2013 at the home of his devoted friend Catherine in Port Allen, La.

He was 81, a native of Paincourtville, La. and a resident of Convent, La. Visiting was at Williams & Southall Funeral Home, Napoleonville, on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting was at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hwy 44 in Convent, La., from 9 a.m. to Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013. Burial was on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Port Hudson National Cemetery with full military honors. Survived by 4 daughters, Toni Freeman, Gretchen Trimble, Yvette Smith (Dwayne) and Shellie Jones (Allen); 1 son, Thomas Martin, III; 1 sister, Anna Jones; 10 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Rosa LeBlanc Martin; a daughter, Teschia Martin; parents, Richard (Gus) Martin and Rebecca Davis Martin; and a son-in-law, Steven Trimble. He was a member of Assembly #2101 Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and St. Michael Council #65 Knights of Peter Claver 3rd Degree.
