A resident and native of Plaquemine, Melba Fay passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 1 p.m. at St. Clare Manor Nursing Home in Baton Rouge at the age 83. She was a retired account specialist with the Louisiana Department of Transportation. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine at 1 p.m., celebrated by Rev. Cleo Milano. Entombment followed in Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum. Melba Fay is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melba Jo Marino Richard and husband Randall of Kenner; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Marino Jr. and wife Linda of Baton Rouge, Gary Marino and wife Brenda Sue, Bradley Marino and wife Donna all of Plaquemine; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria B. Terrebone and husband Lester of Gretna, Isabelle "Izzy" B. Castleberry and husband Clyde of Baton Rouge; one brother and sister-in-law, Walter Babin and wife Rosemary of Brusly; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas Richard and wife Christa, Scott Richard and wife Michelle, Emily Richard, Jami Kelley and husband James "Slim," Jodi Malone and husband Michael, Josh Marino and wife Gretchen, Jaci Marino, Joel Marino, Corey Marino and wife Rachel, Kyle Marino and wife Maddie; 9 great grandchildren, Brooke Kelley, Britney Kelley, Bailee Kelley, Kirsten Malone, Kyla Malone, Kenli Marino, Kade Marino, Rylee Richard and Barrett Richard. Melba Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Marino and her parents, Walter and Isabelle Breaux Babin. Pallbearers were her grandsons. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospice.
