Diana Marie Miller, a resident of Mamou, Louisiana, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the age of 52.
She was an avid restaurateur for many years with an immense passion for working in and managing her restaurants located in Grand Isle (The Restaurant at Gulf Stream Marina), Brusly (Elmo's Café), and Mamou (Manuel's Bar Again). Diana was a devoted wife to her surviving husband, business partner, and love of her life, Robert "Les" Miller. She was a loving and caring mother to Shannon Cormier and wife Crystal, Angela Phillips and significant other Logan Aucoin, and Nicole Miller. She adored her grandchildren: Ethan and Haley Cormier and Nathan and Alyssa Miller. Diana was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt who will be missed dearly by her surviving mother, Geraldine Burton and husband Paul; father, Joe Phillips and wife Bonnie; two sisters, Cathy Abshire and husband Kenneth, Marilyn McKey and husband David; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Abshire, C.J. Abshire, Megan Sarradet and husband Taylor, Michael McKey, and Ashton Mancuso; mother-in-law, Mary Miller; sister-in-law, Linda Papania and family. She is also survived by numerous dearly loved pets, known as her "angels without wings" as well as her cherished friends at Manuel's Bar Again. Diana was preceded in death by her step-father, Dr. Col. Robert McNamee. Visitation was held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Baton Rouge from 9:00 a.m. until mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment followed at Green Oaks Cemetery.
