A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and mother-in-law. Ezora passed away Friday, July 13, 2013 at 1:25 p.m. at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge at the age of 98.
She was a native of Assumption Parish, a longtime resident of both Brusly and Rosedale. She was a homemaker who was a talented seamstress and she loved to crochet and knit. She was an excellent cook and was a member of the St. Joseph Altar Society and The Zippers at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Brusly. Visiting was at St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall in Grosse Tete on Sunday, July 14th from 6 to 9 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting held again on Monday, July 15th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Joel LaBauve and Deacon Sammy Collura. Burial followed at Rosedale Cemetery in Rosedale. Ezora is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Eileen Devillier and Carroll of Rosedale; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lance Chauvin and Jeannie Hebert Chauvin, Mac Chauvin and Linda LeBlanc Chauvin, all of Baton Rouge; a nephew she loved like a son, Joe Riche and wife Carol of Maringouin; step-children, Judy and husband Donnie LaBauve of Baton Rouge, Ruth Landry, Paul and Fran Landry all of Brusly; one sister, Pearl Callender of Port Allen; a brother-in-law, Lynn Chauvin of Baton Rouge, two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Young of Eunice and Rita Chauvin of New Roads; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; godchildren, J.A. Dupuy, Les Callender, Margaret Chauvin Eichelberger and Faron Young. Ezora was preceded in death by first husband, Lance Chauvin Sr., second husband, John P. Landry; a son, Stephen Chauvin, granddaughter, Carol Hebert; parents, Robert Achee Sr. and Fedora Dugas Achee; three sisters, Denise Landry, Gloria Landry, Zella Mae Babin; six brothers, Philip Achee, Roland Achee, Kelly Achee, Robert Achee, Herbert Achee and Charles Achee. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Brad Chauvin, Aaron Chauvin, Flynn Chauvin, Brady Chauvin, Carroll Devillier Jr. and nephew, J.A. Dupuy. Honorary pallbearer will be Carey Chauvin. Readings will be provided by granddaughters, Cobie Chauvin, Michelle Chauvin Lafuria and Christina Devillier Collins. Gift Bearers will be Lauren Chauvin, Kylie Chauvin and Ethyn Loreno.
