A homemaker and resident of Plaquemine, she passed away peacefully with her daughter, Tana, at her side on Friday morning, Aug. 16, 2013.
She was 86 and a native of Bayou Chene. Visiting was Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013 at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment at Grace Memorial Park. She is survived by a daughter, Tana Rome Comeaux and husband Jimmy, of Addis; a son, Clarence Rome, Jr. and wife Sandy Landry Rome, of Plaquemine; a daughter-in-law, Ferol Lambert Rome, of Plaquemine; two sisters, Hester Hunter, of Marrero, Maisie and Joseph Mott, of Plaquemine; 10 grandchildren, Ginnie Rome, Jessica Whaley, Lambert Rome, Clay Falcon, Brooke Falcon, Brittany Bello, Korey Rome, Blair Comeaux, Alex Rome and Bryn Comeaux; six great-grandchildren, Cameron, Keegan, Carson, Ella, Victoria and Brylon. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Clarence Joseph Rome Sr.; parents, Frank and Nora Freyou Seneca; daughter, Susan Rome Falcon Merrick; son, Gregory Rome; and brothers, Howard Seneca and Hayward Seneca. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Comeaux, Clarence Rome Jr., Lambert Rome, Clay Falcon, Korey Rome, Cameron Whaley and Ryan Bello.
