Marie Wascom Lively

Marie, a retired cafeteria manager at Crescent School, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Carpenter House, Baton Rouge at the age of 92.

She was a native of Livingston Parish and a resident of Plaquemine, La. She was a devout Christian and a longtime member of Bayou Plaquemine Baptist Church. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 5 to 9pm and resumed on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 9am until religious services at 11am, conducted by Rev. Ken Austin. Interment Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. She is survived by a daughter, Fleta Ash and husband Don, of Brusly; three sons, Norman Lynn Lively and wife Karen, of Denham Springs, William "Bill" Lively and wife Mona, and Carl Lively, all of Plaquemine; seven grandchildren, Christie Melton, Cody Ash, Corey Lively and wife Kim, Alana Lively Manuel and husband Luke, Tabitha Lively Rowan and husband Brian, Tristen Lively and Theron Lively; six great-grandchildren, Mackenzi Melton, Madison, Addie and Brody Rowan, Andrew Baldwin and Renee Melton; three sisters, Idee Wascom, Annie Norred and husband Bruce, and Bonnie Hoover, all of Holden. Preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lively; daughter, Betty Denise Lively; grandson, Hunter Ray Lively; parents, Utah and Vina Purvis Wascom; sisters, Estelle Wascom and Acenith Easley; and brother, Thomas Wascom. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Special thanks to her caregivers Myrna Seneca and Betty Berthelot, St. Joseph Hospice, Verlie Young and the staff of Our House for Respite in Plaquemine for their loving care, devotion and making her last days comfortable.
