He was called by his heavenly Father on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his home in Destrehan after a three-year battle with cancer.
He was 49, born in Baton Rouge, raised in Erwinville and was employed as a maintenance manager at Bunge. Visiting was at L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner, on Friday, Aug. 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation continued at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, from 9 a.m. until Mass at 11 a.m. Survived by his spouse, Cynthia Gallo Dipuma; parents, Lucas J. and Mary Hogan Dipuma, Erwinville; sons, Garrett Lucas Dipuma and Brett Joseph Dipuma; sisters, Antoinette Dipuma and Rene' Keowen and spouse Tom; sisters-in-law, Pam Wadkins and spouse Pat, and Debbie Douglas and spouse Tim; brother, Michael Dipuma and spouse Terresa; nieces, Hannah Keowen, Luciana Dipuma, Christine Wadkins Adams and spouse Ryan, Maddie Wadkins and Tori Douglas; nephews, Justin and Gabe Keowen, and Alex Wadkins. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis and Agnes Dipuma of Baton Rouge, and Mack and Daisy Hogan of Newton, TX. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Abadie, Bill Arbuckle, Jerry Gibson, James Ray, Ben Taunton, Kevin Wear. Honorary pallbearer is Roy Dufrene. Lucas enjoyed spending time with his family, attending his boys' activities and working on his farm in Monterey, LA.
