A retired fork-lift operator with Agway System Inc. and a resident of Baker, he died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013.
He was 76, a native of Port Allen and U.S. Air Force veteran. Visiting was at Hall's Celebration Center, 9348 Scenic Highway, on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting continued Oasis Christian Church on Friday, Aug. 30, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by Bishop Charles Wallace. Interment in Louisiana National Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Patricia Dunbar-Taylor; mother-in-law, Lillie Dunbar; sisters-in-law, Shonta Dunbar and Thelma Taylor; son, Christopher Izel Taylor; two stepsons, Maurice L. Givens and Marquice G. Givens; sisters, Terry Ann Robertson, Sharron Robertson, Brenda Matthews and Linda Antoine; and brothers, John Alexander Jr., Darrow Alexander, Benjamin Alexander and Kailum Alexander. Preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Alice Taylor Alexander; stepfather, John Alexander Sr.; brothers, Eddie Taylor and Shelby Lee Alexander; and brother-in-law, Clayton Dunbar.
