Dr. Reverend Joe Paul a life-long resident of Port Allen, Louisiana passed away on October 22, 2013 at Baton Rouge General Hospital.

He was 100 years old. Dr. Reverend Joe Paul, Jr. served as a Minister for 81 years. In addition, he received several Honorary Documentaries for his dedicated service. He was born on October 18, 1913 to the late Joe Paul Jr. and Ida Paul. He leaves to cherish his memories three sons-Joe (Doris) Paul, Jr. , Reverend Terry Paul -Port Allen, LA; Irvin Paul -New Orleans, LA.; two daughters-Helen Hardeman -Port Allen LA.; Laura (Joseph) Wright -Baton Rouge LA.; three reared granddaughters -Robbin Paul-Port Allen, LA; Sheila (Carl) Woods-Baton Rouge, LA.; Jennifer Paul –Walker, LA.; one grandson– Stacy Lee Paul - Port Allen, LA. He also leaves to mourn a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents , one step mother Josephine Paul, a devoted wife of 58 years (Virginia "Carrie" Carter-Paul), two sons (Leroy Paul / Oscar Billy Paul), two daughters (Shirley Mae Paul / Linda Paul-Rogers), one son in law (Leonard Hardeman, Sr.) One brother (Willie Green Johnson), two sisters (Carrie Jackson / Alice Chachere). Visitation will be held at Hall Davis & Sons Service – Baton Rouge, LA on November 1, 2013 from 1:00pm – 6:00pm. Family visitation was held from 4:00 pm – 6:00pm. Funeral Services were held at Second Baptist Church – Port Allen, LA on November 2, 2013 at 11:00am. Visitation was from 9:00am – 11:00am prior to service The family would like to send their sincere thanks to the Baton Rouge General Medical Staff – Dr. Jeff Robinson, MD and Fabian Cezar, RN.
