II Timothy 4:7. Mercedes "Deedie" Villere, beloved wife, mother and grandmother died on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. She was 66 years old, a native of Baton Rouge and a long-time resident of Erwinville, LA. She died at 5:15 am at the Baton Rouge General Hospital on Bluebonnet. We want to thank all of the nurses and doctors of that hospital both in the ICU, and on the second and fourth floors. Special thanks to Dr. Christopher McCanless her Oncologist of 7 years. "Deedie" is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ramie "Bootsie" Villere. Two sons: David Villere and wife Stephanie; Chris Villere and special friend Bonnie Caldwell; one daughter: April Ussery and her husband Jason. She is also survived by four grandsons; Christian and Joshua Villere, Devyn Roe, and Grayson Ussery, as well as many loving nieces and nephews; one sister Emily Swanson and husband Ernest. "Deedie" had a zest for living, a great sense of humor; loved people and animals. She was an exceptional seamstress, an avid reader and artist with a "Green-Thumb"
