Eva "Meme" Nevels Ivey passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Flannery Oaks Guest House in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Eva was born on December 26, 1939 in Erwinville, Louisiana to Ruth Edwards Nevels and Marlin Martin Nevels. The greatest loves in Eva's life were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Ron and his wife, Nancy of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, her daughter, Jodi Ivey McKey and her husband, Tim of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, three grandchildren, Blaine Ivey of Baton Rouge, Sarah Waggoner and her husband, Marvin of Kingwood, Texas, Caroline McKey of Baton Rouge, and two great-grandchildren, Mary Grayson Waggoner and Ryleigh Waggoner of Kingwood, Texas. She is also survived by her siblings, Marvin Nevels, Betty Stevens, and Wilma Brownell of Gloster, Mississippi and her twin sister, Sadie Ford Hewett of Laurel, Mississippi, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Eva is preceded in death by her husband, Dickie Ivey, her parents, Ruth and Marlin Nevels, her brothers Jim Nevels and Joe Nevels, and her sister, Edith Adcock. Visitation was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Government Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana from 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 and from 9:30 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Baker, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer's Services of the Capital City, 3722 North Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806 or to the charity of your choice .
