For the second time this season, the Port Allen Pelicans took on the West Feliciana Saints - but with differing results.
After losing 59-54 the first time, giving the Pels their lone district loss, Port Allen avenged their early season defeat, dominating the Saints 68-57 Friday night at home.
The Pels started off behind, but quickly tied it up 8-8 four minutes into the game. By the end of the first quarter, Port Allen had taken a 12-11 lead, and continued to remain ahead of the Saints throughout the game, outscoring West Feliciana in every quarter except the fourth.
Nigel Allen led the Pelicans in scoring, with 17 points, while center Ishmael Lane added another 16 to the scoreboard. Nick Parker contributed 12 more.
The Pels are now 17-6 with a 6-1 district record.
This week, Port Allen will be on the road for both of their games; the team will face Baker on Tuesday and Brusly on Friday.
