The Lady Panthers wrapped up the last game of the scheduled season with a 52-33 home win against the West Feliciana Saints for Senior Night.

“We celebrated our two Seniors, Donkita Williams and Dajone Journee,” said Brusly Girls Coach Shaeeta Williams. “Both kids have been very committed to our program. Donkita has been starting for us, but this game gave Dajone a chance to start as well. It was a very exciting game, and it was overall a fun night. I’m really proud of them.”

The Panthers were off to a slow start at first, but the ladies picked up the pace as the game progressed.

“In the first quarter, we were only up by three points,” said coach Williams, “but after that, we made a good run the rest of the game.”

Caitlyn Williams and Shedricka Pierson led the team in scoring, each earning 14 points for Brusly. “Caitlyn Williams also did a great job for us defensively,” said Coach Williams. “She had several steals.”

The Lady Panthers tied with the Baker Buffalos for 2nd place in district. The tie was broken with the flip of a coin. Brusly claimed 2nd place after winning the coin toss. U-High claimed the 7-3A district regular season title.

Brusly and Baker will meet in the first round of playoffs Thursday night at Brusly.
