BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) announced recently that it has renewed its partnership with the New Orleans Saints, who will again be recognized as the title sponsor for its 2014 New Orleans Saints – LHSAA Game of the Week program.
“The 2014 football season marks the seventh consecutive year that the LHSAA has teamed up with the New Orleans Saints for our high school football Game of the Week program,” said Kenny Henderson, LHSAA executive director. “This year, 15 teams who have never before been featured in our schedule of high school football matchups will be showcased on the Thursday night program. As always, we try to offer to our high school football fans across Louisiana a bit of variety in our Game of the Week lineup predominantly in terms of school size and location.”
“We are pleased to continue our sponsorship of the LHSAA Game of the Week as part of our commitment to supporting the development of football at all levels in our great state,” said Saints Owner/Vice Chairman of the Board Rita Benson LeBlanc. “Louisiana has a proud tradition of producing some of the best athletes in the history of our game and we look forward to showcasing this next generation of players during the 2014 season.”
The New Orleans Saints – LHSAA Game of the Week program consists of a weekly television broadcast of one high school football game for ten weeks during the regular prep football season and for four weeks of the LHSAA football playoffs not including state championship games. The game may also broadcast on FOX Sports Southwest, which reaches more than 10 million homes in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
“We look forward to continue to showcase the LHSAA Football Game of the Week,” said FOX Sports New Orleans Senior Vice President and General Manager Jon Heidke. “High school football has such a rich tradition in Louisiana, and we’re excited to capture the passion of the communities and the electric atmosphere inherent in high school games across the state. The LHSAA is an integral part of our Louisiana programming lineup. We place tremendous value on high school sports, and our commitment to making FOX Sports New Orleans the premier destination for LHSAA programming remains strong.”
