The Westside Bulldogs Youth Football team will host a meeting for new and returning players, cheerleaders and their parents at the Port Allen Community Center on Monday, June 17 from 6 -7 p.m.
The meeting will serve as an introduction to the football and cheerleader coaches, as well as information about team operations, upcoming practices and games. Football and cheerleader practice will begin on Tuesday, June 18 at Port Allen Middle School at 5:30 p.m.
For the 2013 season, the Bulldogs will be accepting a maximum of 40 players on all team rosters. The ages or team assignments are as follows: the C-Team is ages 7-8, the B-Team is ages 9-10 and the A-Team is ages 11-12. A football player can be 13 years old and play for the Bulldogs if he/she makes 13 years old after January 1, 2013.
Middle school students that choose to play football for their respective schools, and are the proper age, will be allowed to play for the Bulldogs while competing for their respective schools.
Parents can also register cheerleaders at this meeting. Cheerleaders must be ages 7-12.
Cheerleader registration is $30. Payments must be made in check or money order only.
The Bulldogs are operated through the West Baton Rouge Parish Parks and Recreation department, and compete as members of the Louisiana River Parish Youth Football and Cheer League, American Youth Football Inc., and USA Football. Home games for the upcoming season will be played at Port Allen Middle School.
