Pelicans dominate in Friday scrimmage

The Port Allen Pelicans faced the Belaire Bengals in a scrimmage Friday, August 23rd. The Pels’ hard work and determination paid off, allowing them to dominate the Bengals on their own turf.

The Pels’ defensive charge, led by Morris Miller, Devonte Wiley, Charles George, and Marcus Keyes, kept Belaire from scoring a touchdown. Even with a Belaire first and goal series from the 1-yard line, the Bengals were unable to get into the endzone against the Pelicans.

Offensively, players KaRon Young and DeMarcus Franklin each had eight carries and scored two touchdowns during the scrimmage.

Thursday, August 29 at 6 p.m., Port Allen will take on the Albany Hornets at the Placid Refinery jamboree in Port Allen.
