Brusly’s Lady Panthers had a very successful week in volleyball.

The ladies played against Denham Springs Tuesday, September 24th.

“We just didn’t have it together, but we finally picked it up and played ball,” said Coach Karen Wooley.

Despite the slow start, the Panthers were able to come back and beat the Yellow Jackets in the last three matches.

The Panthers were victorious again Thursday, September 26th over Port Allen’s Lady Pelicans in which Brusly dominated all three matches.

Friday and Saturday, the team participated in Woodlawn’s “Rumble in the Jungle” tournament. The Lady Panthers lost against Ursuline, but came back to win the next two games against False River and Evangel Christian.

“The only game I had a problem with was the Ursuline game,” said Coach Wooley. “We just laid it out for them.”

Brusly advanced into the playoffs, first taking on McKinley and then East Ascension. Although the Panthers defeated McKinley, they were unable to do so against East Ascension, losing by just three points.

East Ascension went on to win the tournament.
