Lady Panthers (26-6, 8-0) play strong during week, loses after three games in Terrebonne Tournament

Brusly’s Lady Panthers dominated five of the six opponents they faced this past week in volleyball giving the team a 26-6 overall record and an 8-0 district record thus far.

The week began Monday with the Think Pink game at Brusly against Parkview’s Eagles, where the ladies paid tribute to all cancer survivors. The Panthers lost the first two matches, 20-25 and 19-25, but came back to steal the victory after winning the final three 25-23, 26-24, and 15-11.

Wednesday, the Panthers traveled to Baker to take on the Buffalos. Brusly won in three matches: 25-6, 25-8, and 25-7.

The Lady Panthers participated in the Terrebonne Tournament on Saturday, beating the first three opponents, but losing to the fourth. In the first game against Landry-Walker, Brusly won 25-14 and 26-24. In the following game against New Iberia, the Panthers won both matches 28-26. Against South Lafourche, Brusly won 25-9 and 25-15. The tournament ended for the Panthers after losing to South Terrebonne 13-25 and 12-25.

This week the Lady Panthers will begin Monday against the Glen Oaks Panthers for Senior Night, and Wednesday, Brusly travels to Livonia to play the Wildcats. District playoffs will begin Saturday.
