Brusly’s Lady Panthers celebrated a 10-0 undefeated district record and a 31-7 overall record after concluding their scheduled season last Tuesday.
Monday Brusly faced the Glen Oaks Panthers at home for Senior Night where Brusly dominated all three games: 25-2, 25-3, and 25-12. The four seniors, Chloe Richard, Kylie Tolar, Shelby Willis, and Keeley Martin, all four year members of the Panthers’ volleyball team, were recognized before the game.
“The most memorable moment in the last four years was winning the playoff game against Rayne last year,” said Martin.
All of the girls agreed that they would miss their teammates more than anything else.
“All four have played since their freshman year,” said Brusly Head Volleyball Coach Karen Wooley. “They each add something special to the team. Each one is unique, but all will be missed greatly by the team.”
During the match against Glen Oaks, Willis earned the most kills with four. Richard, Johnee LeBlanc, Brianna Granville, and Kelsey Parker each had three kills, and Martin had two of her own. Martin served 19 points, including eight aces while Richard delivered seven more aces for Brusly.
The Brusly Lady Panthers traveled to Livonia to play the Wildcats on Tuesday. Again, Brusly won all three games in dominant fashion: 25-14, 25-13, and 25-16.
LeBlanc had a total of 12 kills and three blocks for the night while Tolar had 22 assists. Martin served four aces, and Richard served three. Richard served a total of 24 points.
This week, the team will have a bye week and will tentatively play the winner of the Parkview vs. Loranger playoff game on Monday.
