Port Allen boys win one, lose two in tough week

Port Allen defeated Christian Life Academy at home Tuesday, December 10.

In a very close game, most of which the Pels were behind, Port Allen came back to win it 71-61, and maintained their undefeated status.

The Pelicans got off to a slow start, falling behind by eight points to the Crusaders. By halftime, the Pels were down nine points, but came back to tie the game 33-33 in the third quarter. With 4:30 left in the game, Port Allen took the lead 52-51, and didn’t look back.

Nick Parker earned 21 points of the Pels’ 71 points, followed by Nigel Allen and Ishmael Lane, each scoring 10 points. Parker also had 10 rebounds and Lane had nine. Parker also notched six assists and two steals while Allen tallied four assists.

It wasn’t until the East Iberville Tournament that the Pelicans experienced their first losses of the season. First, Port Allen played Dunham, losing 63-54 on Thursday, and the following day, the Pelicans lost to Brusly 53-44.
