Brusly’s Panthers beat the East Iberville Tigers 57-32 Tuesday, December 10th.
“Our kids played hard,” said Coach Harold Boudreaux. “The first time we played the Tigers, we beat them by 3 points; this time we beat them by 25. The kids have really adjusted, and they’re playing a lot better. There’s more chemistry, and the team’s slowly coming together.”
The Panthers continued their success over the weekend in the East Iberville Tournament winning two of their three games.
Thursday, the team lost their first game to Dutchtown High School 56-38.
“They were just a very tough team,” said Coach Boudreaux. “We played hard and we defended well, but we lost.”
Friday, the Panthers faced Port Allen’s Pelicans for the third time this season. The first two encounters resulted in losses for Brusly, but the third time was a charm. The Panthers beat the Pels by nine points in a low-scoring affair: 53-44.
Saturday, Brusly took on Family Christian Academy, with a massive 67-31 win. “The guys are coming together and learning what they need to do to get a win,” said Coach Boudreaux.
Travin Thibodeaux averaged 18 points a game during the tournament and 14 rebounds each game. Michael Bryan also had a very good weekend, averaging five 3-pointers a game.
