The Brusly Lady Panthers won two games last week in prep volleyball action.
Port Allen, meanwhile, picked up a victory in its one contest last week.
In action Monday, the Lady Panthers (15-8, 3-1) overcame a loss in the first set to defeat Catholic-Pointe Coupee 3-1 in a non-district outing.
CHSPC topped Brusly 25-13 in the first set. The Lady Panthers followed with wins of 25-22, 27-25 and 25-17 for the victory.
Johnee LeBlanc led Brusly with 13 kills, two aces, two blocks and one dig.
Nikki Verzwyvelt had five kills, one assist and three digs for CHSPC. Megan Elliot posted four kills, 23 assists and two digs, while Tori Jarreau had seven kills, two blocks and two digs.
In Division III, District 6 action earlier in the week, the Lady Panthers posted a 3-1 win over West Feliciana.
The visiting Lady Panthers lost the first set 25-20, but came back with wins of 25-16, 26-10 and 25-24.
LeBlanc chalked 11 kills, three blocks and one dig. Kelsey Parker had seven kills and two blocks, Kylie Tolar had 22 assists.
Brusly visits Istrouma on Thursday and entertains Parkview Baptist on Tuesday. The Lady Panthers travel Oct. 18 to West Feliciana.
In Port Allen volleyball action, the Lady Pelicans improved to 8-8 after a win at Capitol last week.
PAHS won on sets of 25-13, 25-11 and 25-14.
The Lady Pelicans were set to visit Northeast on Wednesday.
The district title may be up for grabs Tuesday when Port Allen hosts Redemptorist.
A five-game home stand and the Dunham Tournament will follow for Port Allen.
“We have to really show up for that tournament,” Port Allen coach Wayne Conaway said. “There’s no ifs, ands or buts ... if we do badly, we don’t get a good draw in the playoffs. If we do well, we’ll get something out of it.”
