Panthers leap into 3rd place in 7-3A

Two district wins at home last week moved the Brusly High boys basketball team (16-6, 4-2) into the top three of the District 7-3A basketball rankings. The two wins, coupled with Glen Oaks’ loss to Port Allen, hurdled the Panthers over Glen Oaks to claim the third place spot.

Quality continues to prevail over quantity for the Brusly wrestling program.

The Panthers reigned supreme over two of three schools in a four-team meet Saturday at De La Salle High School.

BHS topped John Curtis and South Plaquemines but fell to the host team at the event.

There’s a new “sheriff” in town.

After the resignation of Dale Severia, who had had been the president of West Baton Rouge Baseball/Softball for the past five years and had put in countless hours to promote and better the league, resigned last week, former vice president Shaun Morvant has taken the reigns as president, and along with his new board of directors, has big plans for the league.
