After a rainstorm put a damper on the Brusly Panthers Youth Football’s first team game experience at the jamboree in Donaldsonville the weekend of August 30, commissioner Randall “Blue” Gay and his coaches knew they had a lot of work to do to get ready for their first regular season home game this past Saturday at Brusly High School.
The dry spell is over.
Port Allen chalked its first victory in a 3-0 finish over Runnels (25-20, 25-14, 25-15) last week.
The Pelicans improved to 1-3 for the season.
Monica Gordon led PAHS with four kills and seven digs, while Claudia Arcenaux had four assists and four digs.
BRUSLY – A drawback of a senior-laden team comes from the knowledge that several team leaders will be missing on the next year’s roster.
The loss of those seniors led to a bumpier ride during the first week of action for Brusly – but now things are taking shape for BHS.
The Panthers notched their first win of the season Monday with a 3-0 win over McKinley (25-14, 25-11, 25-14).
