BAKER – The curse has ended.

Brusly’s 35-13 rout over Baker on Halloween night ended seven games of bad luck that started after a Week 1 victory over St. John.

The Panthers (2-7) received far more tricks than treats by the time they left Wedge-Keyes Stadium.

It was Homecoming week in Port Allen last week, and as fans packed the Port Allen High School parking lot for tailgating and “Trunk or Treat” for the kids, the Pelicans players were preparing for what would be their highest scoring game of the 2014 season – a 67-18 romp over the winless Glen Oaks Panthers.

Post-season possible for PAHS

Port Allen volleyball coach Wayne Conaway saw his team split a two-game run last week in district fare, but he also realizes things could be far better for the Lady Pelicans.

PAHS battled to a 3-2 finish (25-13, 25-11, 21-25, 28-10) last week at Runnels, but lost 3-1 (21-25, 25-20. 20-14, 20-11) against Episcopal.
