Penalties in the second half of Friday’s game against Glen Oaks may have cost the Brusly boys basketball team a higher seeding in the LHSAA District 3A playoff bracket.  The Panthers head into the first round of the playoffs this Friday with the 27th seed.

The Brusly girls basketball team coasted into the playoffs as they traveled to St. Francisville last Friday, finishing district play where they beat West Feliciana for the second time this season by a dominating score of 56-23.


Panthers aim for 12th state wrestling title

The Brusly High School wrestling team hopes the number 13 won’t live up to its dismal reputation Saturday.

The Panthers will seek their 12th state championship in the last 13 years when they head to Kenner this weekend for the Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament at the Pontchartrain Center.

Brusly heads into the meet after one of its tougher seasons in recent years. A combination of youth, a lack of depth, and injuries have made the quest for another state title far more challenging this year.
