Parkview Baptist edges Brusly in Class 3A regional thriller

On a chilly night, the match-up between Brusly (9-3) and Parkview Baptist (10-0) added some fire. It took some late fireworks from Parkview Baptist to come away with the 32-28 victory over Brusly in which Brusly led 28-18 midway through the fourth quarter.

Warner’s presence very much alive with Panthers

On a cold, windy Monday at sunset, the Brusly football team walked off the field with thoughts of more than just the upcoming regional battle against Parkview Baptist.

Monday would’ve been the 19th birthday of Justin Warner, who died in May from gunshot wounds he suffered at a gas station near the Intracoastal Waterway bridge.

BHS Volleyball team falls in quarterfinals

KENNER — One night before Brusly faced E.D. White in an opening round football playoff, BHS met EDW for post-season quarterfinal volleyball action.

Unfortunately for the BHS volleyball team, the collision against E.D. White spelled the end of the championship quest.

Johnson scores late TD for Port Allen playoff win

A look of relief etched the face of Guy Blanchard late Saturday night.

A deviation from the normal Friday schedule and playoff opponents the Pelicans faced earlier in the season concerned the PAHS head football coach.

Neither of Blanchard’s pre-game concerns came to fruition. A Caleb Johnson 10-yard touchdown run in the last 29 seconds snapped a tie to give the Pelicans a 22-14 victory over McMain at City Park’s Pan American Stadium.
