Intensity level fuels Brusly win over PCC

MORGANZA – A loss in the previous game and the forthcoming district schedule gave Brusly all the fuel it needed to outdo another district champion.

The defending 7-3A champion Panthers turned up their intensity a level in a 65-45 win over District 6-1A co-champion Pointe Coupee Central in non-district action last week.

LSWA names Jay Christophe 3A All-State Offensive MVP

Jay Christophe emerged a show-stealer in District 7-3A football his senior year – and pulled off the same feat on the state level.

The Brusly quarterback was named Offensive Most Valuable Player for the Class 3A All-State Football Team, selected by members of the Louisiana Sportswriters Association.

Port Alllen and Brusly high school hoop squads head into the Christmas break on the threshhold of a busy schedule that will lead both squads into the 2013 District 7-3A race. 

Both teams will compete in the Madison Prep Classic after Christmas. District season tips off for both teams Jan. 8.


Brusly, Port Allen football return to B.R. district

Some new opponents – and some not so new – join Port Allen and Brusly in the newly formed district the Louisiana High School Athletic Association formally approved last week.

Parkview Baptist and West Feliciana – will rejoin West Baton Rouge Parish schools as part of “Greater Baton Rouge Area” District 7-3A.
