Port Allen, Brusly headed for playoffs

Both West Baton Rouge high schools are sending their football teams to this year’s LHSAA 3A playoffs.

The Brusly High Panthers and the Port Allen Pelicans will both be playing this Friday – in separate locations - for their chance to move on to the second round.

Local volleyball teams reach end of playoff run

Perhaps there’s no place like home, but it’s not where either local volleyball team hoped to spend Thursday or Friday of this week.

Brusly and Port Allen fell short in their quests to land a spot in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Volleyball Championships that start Thursday at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner.

Baton Rouge – After a rough 1st quarter, which included two Brusly fumbles and an interception, the Brusly Panthers pulled it together for their third win of the season, beating the Glen Oaks Panthers and earning themselves a spot in the 3A playoffs.
