Brusly center earns All-Star roster spot

Brusly standout senior center Travin Thibodeaux was named to the Louisiana High School Coaches Association All-Star basketball team.

Thibodeaux is the only player from West Baton Rouge to garner a roster spot on the All-Star team this year.

Thibodeaux will don the Boys’ West Squad jersey.

The only other player from District 7-3A on the roster is James Thompson from Parkview Baptist.

This Saturday, March 22, is the annual LHSCA All-Star Basketball doubleheader at Bossier Parish Community College. The Girls' game will start at 2 p.m., followed by the Boys' game at 4 p.m.

Port Allen softball seeing big wins on freshman arm

Port Allen’s Lady Pels seven-game winning streak ended this weekend after a loss to Hanson Memorial.

“You can’t win everything, but I think it was a very good confidence boost for us,” said Port Allen’s softball coach Alisha Butler. “It really helped us get ready for district and pumped up the girls.”
